The position is in our Eindhoven based AI Applications team, which is part of the Data & AI group (D&AI). This international team of experts is developing, validating, and maintaining AI and Data science solutions. This team is responsible for the full life-cycle of our AI product features for in our electron microscopy product domains: Semiconductor; Life Sciences/Biology research; and Materials science. We are seeking a staff AI engineer to focus on Life sciences and Biology applications. The applications you develop will enable customers to conduct disease research and medicine development using CryoEM.
QUALIFICATIONS:
We require a hands-on researcher with excellent analytical skills and an intrinsic drive to overcome obstacles. You will need to be able to work closely with a diverse team to deliver high-quality, maintainable solutions in a multifaceted environment.
- Candidates with a PhD. or Masters, with experience in the domain of Structural Biology, Biomedical sciences, Chemistry, or related areas are encouraged to apply.
- Proven experience in building scalable deep learning solutions that are based upon toolkits such as PyTorch TensorFlow.
- Able to work with ML-Ops pipelines and GIT to build scalable applications that can be integrated in software products.

Responsibilities:
- Lead innovations that improve our Life Sciences products by using Foundation models, Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, Machine Learning, Computer Vision.
- Collaborate closely with the software teams across Thermo Fisher Scientific to define and integrate next generation AI methods into our customers products.
- Collaborate with scientists and domain experts to validate products, write publications, or patents.
- Drive teamwork with external university group or key opinion leaders to progress co-development of new imaging and characterization workflows.
