Description:
POSITION OVERVIEW
Under the guidancance of the Operations Manager coordinate daily base flight operations. This includes, but is not limited to coordinating with flight crew, ramp personnel and the Operations Manager.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Proficient with MS Office Suite
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Dedicated to customer service
- Previous experience with aircraft operations and administration in Houma preferred, but not required
Responsibilities:
- Effectively communicate with customers, leadership, and base personnel.
- Communicate with HLO/HDA/Aircraft Refuelers and other Ramp Personnel.
- Plan and manage aircraft parking assignments as necessary.
- Keep Passenger Management Personnel informed of aircraft and flight status.
- Track flight status and manage Flight Information Display System (FIDS).
- Monitor weather conditions and assist in informing Flight Crews of existing weather conditions to include Enhanced Operations Control (EOC) conditions.
- Possess general knowledge of passenger manifesting and cargo processing.
- Ensure safe and efficient traffic flow of aircraft and ground support equipment on the flyway and ramp spaces.
- Track and record aircraft arrival/departure times and operational calls.
- Track and record fueling, briefing and loading notifications
- Possess working knowledge of PHI’s General Operations Manual and Houma Operations Administrative Manual.
- Keep HLO informed of inbound aircraft status to include arrival times, passenger count, and aircraft parking assignment.
- When required, direct the reposition of aircraft between ramps to insure proper sequencing of aircraft for scheduled operations.
- Provide flight crews with flight readiness information, to include status of passenger briefing, aircraft baggage/cargo loading, and fueling.
- Monitor Aircraft Operational status and communicate completion of aircraft systems checks and maintenance checks to Base Operations Manager.
- Maintain, update, publish and distribute Facility/Waypoint Listing, Pilot Lineup, and Aircraft Ops Schedule.
- Employee is expected to fully understand and support Destination Zero and PHI’s SMS Policy.
- Perform general administrative duties and other functions as directed by the Base Operations Manager.
- Utilize Microsoft Office to include Microsoft Teams to generate required documents and forms as required as well as communicate with pilots, management, and administrative personnel.
- Be willing and able to rotate across the three roles in the Advisory Tower consisting of Fuel Management, Manifesting and Logistics, and Traffic Control.3
- Possess the capacity to observe and direct aircraft/ground traffic, answer radio/phone calls, and record critical information in rapid sequence.
- Ensure the safety and efficiency of ground support crews while safely directing aircraft in sequence.
- Maintain an open dialogue with other Advisory Tower personnel to promote synergy and efficiency during periods of high workload.
