In Richmond, NSW Airbus provides heavy maintenance and modifications for the Royal Australian Air Force’s fleet of C-130J Hercules.
About the role
We are currently seeking Avionics Aircraft Maintenance Engineers to join our team located at RAAF Base Richmond.
These positions are suitable to people who are CASA licenced, EASA licenced, ex-DASA licenced and AMEs with C-130J type (or similar) experience.
Airbus is committed to work with you on transitioning your licence, providing type training and the opportunity to be licenced on type for the C-130J Hercules platform.

Work hours
Airbus operates to a 4-day work week (38 hours), Mon – Thu (6.00 am – 4.00 pm), with overtime available.
About you
To be successful in this role, it is a requirement to be able to work in a team environment, have a strong attention to detail as well as good verbal and written skills.

The knowledge, skills and experience best suited to this role would include:

  • Experience in C-130J maintenance
  • Hold any of the below qualifications or greater:
  • Cert IV in Aeroskills (Avionics)
  • DASR 66 Military Aircraft Maintenance Licence (or previously held a licence)
  • CASA Part 66 Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Licence
  • EASA Category B Examination Credits
  • Cert in Aeronautical Engineering (Level 4) (NZ)
  • Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering (Level 5 or greater) (NZ)
  • NVQ Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering (UK)
  • Craft Certificate - Aircraft Mechanics (IRE)
  • Understanding of relevant aircraft maintenance documentation and practices

Other experience that would be highly regarded (however not mandatory) includes:

  • Experience in a heavy maintenance environment
  • Any military aircraft maintenance experience

You must be eligible for an Australian Government Security Clearance and have the capacity to satisfy pre-employment screening which may include criminal history checks, medical, and drug and alcohol testing.
