POSITION SUMMARY:

The Aircraft Maintenance Technician - Mechanics will be responsible for checking and maintaining the condition of aircraft, and engine, makes repairs, replacements and adjustments, in accordance with approved maintenance procedures. This role requires strong technical expertise to manage the projects and drive operations growth.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Graduated from accredited trade institution with Mechanics background
  • Experience: Minimum 2-5 years of experience in Mechanics-related general aircraft assembly, fabrication, installation.
  • Proven ability to interpret blueprints/specifications/standards and written technical instructions
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND OR SKILLS:

  • Experience with Twin Otter aircraft and system is considered an asset
  • Valid M1 or M2 license is considered an asset

Responsibilities:

  • The AME/Technician is responsible for checking and maintaining the condition of aircraft and engine, makes repairs, replacements and adjustments, in accordance with approved maintenance procedures.
  • S/he is accountable to the Production Manager for completing work assigned by the Lead Hand or Production Manager. The AME/Technician will ensure that all work is done in accordance with the policies and procedures defined locally and by Transport Canada.
  • Complete verification inspections, if trained, as directed by Lead Hand / Production Manager and maintain integrity of all issued documents.
  • Interpret blueprints/specifications/standards and written technical instructions and bring forth any questions to the lead.
  • Ensure shop area and tools are maintained in a clean and safe condition.
  • Work with manager and coworkers to understand “the big picture”. Make any necessary adjustments to best achieve targets, including informing others of issues that might affect their targets.
  • Disassemble, inspect, record discrepancies, recommend and record methods of repair
  • Install, rig and carry out all other mechanical functions and test in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications
