EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Shall hold or working towards a current AME “S” Transport Canada license or related experience.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Internet.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience with all De Havilland Aircraft of Canada products is considered an asset.
  • Possess knowledge expected of an Aircraft Structure Technician on aircraft types handled by the Company.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to acquire a Transport Canada issued Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC).

Responsibilities:

  • Qualified to perform structural repairs/major mods installation tasks under the supervision of a licensed Structures Technician in a manufacturing production environment.
  • Responsible to the assigned leader and have ability to take direction verbally and through printed media.
  • Basic knowledge of standard practices and structures systems, accurately interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, drawings, system schematics, engineering orders, test documents, manufacturer’s installation manuals.
  • Have a basic understanding of other aircraft systems i.e. hydraulic, flight controls and major components.
  • Complete structural repairs/major mods in accordance with drawings.
  • Repair, fabricate parts and components; fabricate per drawings and standard practices.
  • Perform system checks and inspections to ensure structures systems are in compliance with industry and safety standards.
  • Keep accurate records of all work performed and maintain inventory of tools and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean work area and alert the leadership team of any safety concerns; take immediate action or report immediately any unsafe conditions.
  • Responsible for ensuring both accuracy and traceability of parts removed or installed on Aircraft.
  • Perform other work as assigned and willing to work shift work.
  • Properly utilize Structures test equipment to perform systems tests.
  • Properly utilize and maintain Structures hand tools to perform installations and repairs.
  • Safely operate ground support equipment, i.e. Power carts, lifts (when properly trained), etc. as required.
