As WestJet becomes more complex and dynamic, we are seeking an Aircraft Materials Coordinator (11- Month Term Contract)
This individual has the ability to exhibit a high standard of excellence, enjoys challenges, and is results-driven. The incumbent must be highly motivated and demonstrate the ability to work in an agile environment.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for providing customer service in a friendly and efficient manner to all WestJet Technical Operations personnel
- Responsible for supporting a 24/7, 365 day operation to ensure that aircraft tools, parts, shop supplies and information is readily available.
- Responsible for ensuring inventory levels are maintained while optimizing cost, storage space requirements and usage levels for all bases within the WestJet network
- Responsible for the overall in and out flow of all WestJet Technical and non-technical inventory
- Ensure all Dangerous Goods Materials are handled in accordance with Transportation of Dangerous Goods Guidelines and IATA Dangerous Goods Shipping Requirements (upon certification)
- Ensure all inventory transactions are accurately recorded in the Computer Tracking System
- Responsible for packaging and preparation of all materials for shipping
- Responsible for ensuring all materials are stored in accordance with the original manufacturing storage guidelines
- Responsible for sourcing of parts, part alternatives and related equipment, within inventory when shortages arrive, to minimize all aircraft on ground situations
- Respond to ever changing priorities at any given time while ensuring a safe operating environment
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 2 years experience working in a Stores Warehousing environment with an emphasis on inventory management practices
- Minimum 1 year experience working in a Shipping/Receiving environment
- Must have high school diploma or equivalent
- Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) required
- Must hold a valid Driver’s License and have a clean driver’s abstract
- Must be able to obtain a Transport Canada Security Clearance within 6 months of start date
- Must be able to obtain an Airport Vehicle Operator’s License within 6 months of start date
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively, in addition, must be able to meet physical demands of an environment where you will be walking, climbing, lifting and bending repetitively
- Must be able to work shift work – including night shift, Stat holidays, and weekends
- Inventory Management Accredited Program diploma is an asset
- Knowledge of Aviation parts an asset
- Experience in a procurement related role an asset
- Forklift operator experience an asset
- IATA Dangerous Goods Certificate or Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certificate is an asset
- Ability to multi-task and make decisions in fast-paced, stressful situations, while maintaining a calm and respectful work environment
- Ability to communicate and get along well with others in a team oriented environment
All offers of employment are conditional on passing a pre-employment drug screening test and post offer employment physical ability test
Successful candidate must be able to:
- achieve a passing grade on IATA Dangerous Goods and Dangerous Goods by Road
- maintain Transport Canada Security Clearance and Airport Vehicle Operators Permit
- achieve a passing grade and maintain WestJet forklift training
- achieve working competency of inventory management software
