RAF Syerston, Newark on Trent, NG23 5NN (bordering Lincolnshire)
Full Time, Permanent (39 hours per week)
Salary of £34,960 per annum on a successful completion of a 3 months’ probation period. (Additional allowance maybe applied subject to role requirement)
Serco have an exciting role as an Aircraft Mechanical Senior Supervisor at RAF Syerston. You will lead and manage teams carrying out maintenance on Viking and other contract-related aircraft at RAF Syerston and other locations throughout the UK.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Fulfil the responsibilities and duties of Certifying Staff in accordance with Serco GMS policies and military regulatory policies.
Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on Viking and other contract-related aircraft at RAF Syerston and 2 Flying Training School (FTS) locations/Volunteer Gliding Squadrons (VGSs)/detachments across the UK.
Lead and participate in aircraft activities, including ground movement and preparation for transportation.
Lead, manage, supervise, and control assigned maintenance teams.
Optimise output to meet business needs and demonstrate commitment to Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement.
Perform additional roles as required such as Aircraft Manager (Depth-level Maintenance), Team Leader (Mobile), Building Custodian, and Issue Centre Custodian.
Responsibilities:
Experienced in a similar engineering background with a minimum of MOD Phase 2 technical training or suitable civilian training (civilian contractors only)
Proven experience or potential to hold Certifying Staff responsibilities.
Possess good fault diagnosis skills, demonstrating a thorough understanding of aircraft systems.
Hold full driving licence.
Possess good communication skills both written and verbal.
Have basic IT skills
