Description:
JOB OUTLINE:
- Attend daily morning Engineering briefing meeting with Line and Base Maintenance, Quality Assurance, MCC, Development, Materials and Vendor Engineers/ managers/ representatives to assist with the availability of maintenance opportunities within the aircraft allocation schedule. In the case of critical operational eventualities (e.g. urgent/ time limited maintenance requirements, AOG) provide assistance and suggestions in conjunction with the Scheduling Controller on duty.
- Assist within Engineering Planning for communication with internal and external parties such as Maintenance Sections, flight Operation, Crew Training, Corporate Communications, DNATA, Lessors, vendor representatives, third party maintenance agencies for allocation and coordination of necessary activities/ maintenance requirements/ aircraft ground time.
- Provide feedback to Commercial Planning to accommodate Engineering requirements within the Operating Plan.
- Review Daily Aircraft Allocation and Quarterly Maintenance Plan prepared by the Scheduling Controlers to ensure optimum utilisation of maintenance check frequencies, compliance with legal limitations, proper staggering of maintenance inputs, inclusion of all relative aircraft registrations and accurate and error free information prior to dissemination within the Emirates network.
- Liaise with Commercial Departments for inclusion of additional flight requirements into the operating plan to facilitate revenue optimisation without compromising maintenance ground time availability for multiple fleet aircraft types / sub types and operational conflicts.
- Assist in the preparation of medium (2 years) and long term (5 years) Heavy Maintenance Plans and Special Project Plans (e.g. major modifications, Landing Gear overall, aircraft painting) in conjunction with and as advised by Scheduling Manager, Planning Engineer, Manager Operational Planning to ensure long term maintenance requirements are catered for and established, check intervals are optimised and check limitations are met.
- Prepare and distribute reports to various sections within Engineering on Fleet Operational details in terms checks forecasted, average Aircraft Daily Utilisation for Flight Hour, Cycles and Ratios required to support their long term forecasting and planning activities including preparation of Aircraft Weighing plans and status report.
- Supervise and train other scheduling staff to facilitate knowledge dissemination and skill improvements and provide ongoing update to subordinate personnel based on fleet and destination developments ensuring elimination of inefficient methods and implementation of departmental improvements and system changes.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: QUALIFICATIONS:
- 12 Years schooling or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Engineering Planning.
- Experience in Manpower planning, project management or resource planning 5+ Years.
- Experience in a Planning or Project Management environment would be advantageous.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- A basic understanding of aircraft documentation including AMM, IPC, Work Packages and Maintenance Schedules would be useful but not essential.
- Sound knowledge of Computer Applications (e.g. MS Office).
- Knowledge of Ultramain, AMES or Movement Control Systems (e.g. CORE) is an advantage.
