We are currently seeking a talented individual to join our Transportation team. This position is responsible for performing Airport Equipment Operator duties and supervising a crew of airport maintenance employees engaged in a variety of airport maintenance activities to ensure the safety of the workers and the travelling public while maintaining and improving public infrastructure.

Essential Qualifications
Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the qualifications below. Selections for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.
Experience operating a wide variety of heavy equipment including loader, dump truck and trucks with attachments (e.g. snow plow, sander, sweeper) and grader
Experience supervising employees including resolving employee performance issues and scheduling, training and evaluating employees operating heavy equipment
Experience implementing a maintenance program including budgeting, planning and scheduling including material management
Experience supervising staff in airport maintenance activities
Experience with workplace safety systems
Valid class 3 driver’s license with air endorsement or equivalent
Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.

Conditions of Employment
This is a designated position within the Yukon public service which requires the following condition(s) of employment:
Valid Yukon Class 3 driver’s licence with air endorsement
Transport Canada Transportation Security Clearance (within 3 months)
Restricted Radio Operator’s License (within 1 month)
Airside Vehicle Operator’s Permit (within 1 month)
Non-Restricted Possession and Acquisitions License, PAL (within 1 year)
Certification on airport heavy equipment (as needed for position within 6 months).
Job Requirements
This is a designated position within the Yukon public service which requires the following job requirements:
Travel, working in adverse weather conditions, mandatory use of personal protective equipment, shift work and working outside of headquarters area for extended periods of time.

Annual Community Allowance
Two (2) Travel Bonus Credits on a quarterly (3 month) basis
If located/living in Old Crow, entitled to cost of one (1) economy return air fare from Old Crow to Whitehorse for the employee, their spouse and one child
