Description:

THE SERVICE & TEAM:

This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Drug & Alcohol Action Team (DAAT), which sits within the Safer Communities Service of the Council. The DAAT is responsible for strategic commissioning duties in relation to the Drug and Alcohol strategies for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
The DAAT is a small team of four plus a Team Manager but is part of a wider team focused on multiple vulnerabilities.
The DAAT has been nationally recognised for its delivery; it leads and co-ordinates evidence-based prevention approaches using the voice of experience, co-production, collaboration and Human Learning Systems to implement delivery plans, service procurement, contract management, reporting and communicating progress.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

We are looking for somebody that enjoys working as part of a team in a supporting role, who is also a compassionate and resilient individual with experience of working in a multi-agency approach, dealing with members of the public as well as professionals and stakeholders, with an appetite for learning and a strong interest in reducing the harms associated to drug and alcohol use.
The successful candidate will need to be self-organising and able to work with minimal supervision. You must have strong communication, negotiation, IT and co-ordination skills and be flexible and adaptable to changing situations.

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE:

This is a key role to support and co-ordinate activity related to local drug and alcohol strategy priorities. This will include planning, performance monitoring and evaluation of projects, co-ordination of events, activities and services to ensure innovative and cost-effective responses.
The successful candidate will be involved in cross system working and frequent interaction with colleagues in the Council such as Amethyst Strategic Intelligence Team, Community Safety and Anti-social Behaviour Team, Complex Needs Team, Domestic Abuse & Sexual Violence Strategy Team, Housing Options, Social Care and Education as well as commissioned services and other agencies such as Health, Police and Probation.
By the nature of the role, the jobholder will have access to very sensitive and potentially disturbing information however the DAAT is a supportive and inclusive team that prioritises wellbeing, personal development and working together for best outcomes.
The work of the team is a combination of face to face and remote working, the team is also responsible for delivering a workforce development programme so the successful candidate may be required to assist in the facilitation of training and workshops at various locations across the County.
This is a public/customer-facing role, where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies.
