An exciting development opportunity has arisen to work alongside the Consultant Clinical Immunologists, Consultant Allergist and Clinical Nurse Specialists in the delivery of Specialist Immunology and Allergy Services for patients across Cumbria and Lancashire.
You will be expected to play an active part in supporting the quality of care and the experience of Immunology and Allergy patients through clinical practice, nurse led clinics, education, research and audit. This includes assisting the team to achieve RCP accreditation (QPIDS & IQAS).
This post is 15 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, 8am - 5pm, with flexibility required for earlier starts and later finishes occasionally.
We provide a clinical service for the management of patients with rare Primary Immunodeficiencies. The post holder will assist in the training and provision of home therapy, and in the liaison with other members of the multi-disciplinary team involved in their management. Patients with a broad spectrum of allergic disease are also referred to the service for treatment, patient education and ongoing management of complex allergic disease.
The service offers nurse-led clinics for immunoglobulin infusion, allergy desensitisation treatment (immunotherapy), and patient training to self-infuse and self-inject.
Applications are invited from nurses who are able to work independently and are dynamic and enthusiastic about developing nursing practice within this evolving specialty.

Responsibilities:
Runs nurse led clinics for treatments and education (Face to face, Video and Telephone clinics).
Provides psychological support
Provides expert advice and clinical practice
Provide specialist education and training to others
Work collaboratively and co-operatively with clinical colleagues to develop services and quality of care delivered
Effectively communicates with patients and other health professionals
Undertakes audit, quality initiatives and contribute to research if required in future
Manages and maintains medication and equipment stoc
