Description:
JOB OVERVIEW
The position includes providing housing assignments following Part VI of the Housing Act 1996 and facilitating permanent housing allocations via the Housing Allocations Scheme and Choice-Based Lettings System. The role also involves direct matching procedures for candidates with health requirements, those in under-occupied housing, and management relocations. Moreover, the position involves confirming the final selected candidates for permanent housing and offering housing guidance to the applicants. The individual in this position is tasked with assigning and leasing temporary housing and PRSO properties according to the Temporary Accommodation Placement Policy.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiarity with housing laws, such as Part VI of the Housing Act 1996, the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, the Children’s Act, the Care Act, and the Welfare Reform Act.
- Expertise in housing distribution, prevention of homelessness, and public housing.
- Capability to organize and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
- Experience in assisting vulnerable individuals and managing difficult situations.
- Skilled in IT systems, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and housing databases.
- Capability to operate autonomously and fulfill deadlines.
- Skilled in keeping precise records and guaranteeing adherence to policies.
- Readiness to work flexibly, including during non-standard hours as needed.

Responsibilities:
- Assign permanent accommodation via Choice-Based Lettings and direct pairing.
- Evaluate and review applications for housing distributions.
- Perform direct matching for candidates with medical requirements, recent hospital discharges, individuals in under-occupied homes, and those in sheltered housing.
- Offer housing recommendations and support regarding housing alternatives.
- Distribute temporary housing and PRSO properties following established policies.
- Support the registration and letting procedures for temporary and PRSO properties.
- Keep precise records of allocations, placements, refusals, and lettings.
- Guarantee adherence to legal obligations, regulations, and optimal practices.
- Coordinate with hospitals, social services, occupational therapists, and outside organizations.
- Oversee the advertising of vacant properties and the process of shortlisting.
- Offer assistance and recommendations for candidates with extra requirements.
- Take part in telephone consultation schedules and customer service tasks.
- Address complaints, inquiries, and legal communications.
- Act on behalf of the team in external meetings and collaborations.
- Assist in policy execution, enhance services, and provide employee training.
- Guarantee adherence to data protection, safeguarding, health and safety, and equality regulations.
- Working three days on a rota basis at Lynton House in Ilford
