STANDARDS & REQUIREMENTS

Education: Post-secondary degree required. Trinity Western University alumni preferred.
Experience: 2+ years of directly related experience in sales, human resources, project coordination, or similar experience.

POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY

As key ambassadors of TWU, University Advancement staff aspire to the highest standards of achievement, accountability, and excellence in communications, offering their various gifts and expertise to advance the reputation of TWU as Canada’s premier Christian Global Liberal Arts University.
University Advancement supports the vision of Trinity Western University by connecting individuals, organizations, foundations, and broader networks to God’s work of transformation in the lives of our students, faculty, and staff.
Working collaboratively with the Centre for Calling and Career Development, the Alumni Engagement Coordinator coordinates opportunities to support, resource, and enhance the career development of alumni, especially recent graduates. In addition, the Coordinator will invite the greater alumni community to contribute to the university’s vision to equip graduates for life, by joining the career support network of current students and recent graduates.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Recent Graduate Strategy – Work alongside the Vice President of Alumni & Families to research, design, and implement a relational engagement strategy for recent graduates.
  • Alumni Engagement and Advancement – Actively develop and maintain meaningful relationships with alumni, inviting them to contribute to TWU’s vision to equip graduates for life.
  • Vision Advancement – Facilitate opportunities for alumni to partner with TWU in its vision through the recruitment of new students, support of current students, and launch of graduating students.
  • Alumni Employers –In collaboration with the Centre for Calling and Career Development, facilitate opportunities to invite the alumni community to participate and contribute to the launching and hiring of current students and recent graduates.
  • Networking and Wayfinding – In collaboration with the Centre for Calling and Career Development, facilitate opportunities for alumni to network and connect with other alumni and current students (region-based and industry-based). Manage connections for current students and recent graduates to connect with seasoned alumni for wayfinding career purposes. Research, prospect, and be the point person of any networking digital platform (eg. LinkedIn, Gravyty, etc.) to create connections among alumni.
  • Life and Career Workshops and Initiatives– In collaboration with the Centre of Calling and Career Development as well as Schools and Faculties across campus, provide opportunities for alumni to develop personally and professionally through a series of workshops, events, and initiatives throughout the year.
  • Career Resources – Research and provide relevant and meaningful career resources (eg. Articles, videos, etc.) to be periodically distributed to alumni through multiple communication channels (eg. E-newsletter, LinkedIn alumni group, etc.).
  • TWU Alignment – Develop a deep knowledge and understanding of TWU’s priorities, needs, culture, community, academic and co-curricular strengths.
