Do you have project management experience? As the AMI Meter Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of the AMI Meter Change Out Program. In this role, you will be working as the liaison between Sarasota County stakeholders and contractors. This is a time-limited role that ends December 31, 2029. - Liaison for Sarasota County Utilities Management, Utilities Billing Department, and Utilities Technology Group with the Contractor(s).
- Conduct weekly update meetings with everyone involved, track progress, provide regular updates, and ensure that team members are meeting their commitments.
- Ensuring the contractor is working in the agreed-scheduled area.
- Work directly with the billing supervisor to resolve reading or clerical issues.
- Work directly with the technology department ensuring files are being delivered to Sarasota County promptly.
- Keep track of the calendar to know when the contractor needs to be in or out of an area.
- Meet the Contractor daily to distribute meters, boxes, and other parts and conduct daily inventory.
- Field verify that the meters are being set correctly and level, boxes are cleaned out, no metal lids are being reused, endpoints are being installed through the lid, and no trash is left behind.
- Act as the primary contact for escalating critical issues to leadership and ensuring they are addressed promptly.
Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Project Management, or a related field and three (3) years of related professional experience.
- OR- Master’s degree in a related field and two (2) years of required experience.
- OR- Project experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis depending on the type of experience.
- Valid Florida driver’s license at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Utility billing and field maintenance experience.
Physical Demands:
- May occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.

About Everything Else
Starting Pay Range: $61,131.20 - $68,000.00/ annually, based on experience.
