Overview of the Role
Under the supervision of the Director, Accounting Standards and policies, the candidate plays a crucial role in ensuring that the Company’s financial reporting aligns with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

How you will make contributions that matter:

  • Preparing accounting position papers supported by appropriate backup files and research in IFRS
  • Analyze significant new contracts or amendments to contracts for compliance with IFRS
  • Exercise a role of consultant in the interpretation and application of IFRS for various stakeholders such as divisional finance teams
  • Active involvement in the preparation of consolidated financial statements on a quarterly and annual basis
  • Support divisions and monitor information and data output from lease accounting software for compliance with IFRS16 Lease Accounting
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of global accounting policies and coordinate the implementation throughout the organization of developments in IFRS
  • Active involvement in purchase accounting, involving coordinating with external valuators as well as M&A team and external auditors, as needed
  • Active involvement in providing supporting documentation to external auditors such as the annual goodwill impairment testing analysis and results; and
  • Support the corporate team for various special projects such as network optimization initiatives and financial instruments

    You Are Best Suited for The Role If You Have the Following Qualifications:

  • Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) is required

  • Minimum 3 years of experience (open to candidates in external audit)
  • Knowledge of IFRS and ability to research IFRS
  • Knowledge of the MS Office Suite (mainly Powerpoint, Word and Excel)
  • Knowledge of SAP, Power BI and Workiva, is an asset
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills and excellent inter-personal and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrate a passion for learning combined with a desire to acquire new skills
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment
  • Good business acumen
  • Bilingualism (French and English) spoken and written is essential

    Salary Range: $65,010 - $85,320

  • Salary offers will vary commensurate with experience, education, skills, and training.
