Analyst, Analytics (IT) Job Description

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education, licenses, certifications, and experience required to fulfill the essential duties.

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year college or university
  • 1-3 years of experience in data analysis and project management. Experience in healthcare industry or IT-related fields a plus.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills required.
  • Advanced experience with SQL/PL SQL.
  • Experience writing ETL scripts in Python.
  • Experience working with Tableau
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence a plus.
  • Experience working on an agile development team a plus
  • Experience with project management methodology/SDLC a plus.
  • Experience with data warehousing and/or creating data marts a plus
  • Experience analyzing complex business problems and synthesizing large data sets to yield actionable recommendations.
  • Familiarity with relational database concepts and a demonstrated ability to comprehend complex technical systems and/or processes.
  • Must possess a high level of self-initiative, drive and motivation, along with organizational skills.

Responsibilities:

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

DaVita’s Physician Experience team is a high-energy, entrepreneurial group committed to transforming the future of healthcare delivery. We are currently seeking a motivated data analyst to join our team in downtown Denver. This analyst will have the unique opportunity to design and implement programs that impact high priority technology initiatives, drive clinical and operational excellence, and create a differentiated quality of life for our dialysis patients. This position offers visibility with senior leadership and a long runway for professional growth and development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Identifying Internal Customers’ Needs
  • Desire/ability to connect enterprise strategy with the team’s projects.
  • Know what publicly reported or internal data is available.
  • Identify opportunities to use data to inform decisions.
  • Keep apprised of relevant developments within the healthcare industry.
  • Collect technical and business requirements to document a requestor’s specific analytical needs.
  • Ability to lead and drive conversations around data.
  1. Retrieve Data from DaVita Systems
  • Use SQL to retrieve data from relational databases.
  • Navigate and retrieve data from Salesforce.
  • Develop ETL scripts to keep recurrently used data up-to-date.
  • Work with legal and compliance resources to identify guard rails for data requests.
  • Follow SDLC/IT standards consistently
  1. Analysis
  • Weigh costs and benefits of different analytical approaches.
  • Understand and apply basic statistics in analytical products.
  • Leverage Excel to answer questions—using formulas, PivotTables, and/or Macros.
  • Leverage analytic tools—particularly Python—to manipulate large data sets.
  • Leverage data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Cognos, and/or Looker).
  • Development repeatable analytics process to support recurring needs.
  1. Data Synthesize and Report Out
  • Build and maintain VP-level reports and dashboards.
  • Develop and conduct VP-level presentations (using PowerPoint).
