Reporting to the Manager, Data Management, we are currently seeking a Analyst to join the Data Management team responsible for overseeing the end-to-end data management process, ensuring data quality, integrity, and proper utilization. This role requires a strong understanding of data governance, master data management, investment valuation process, financial products and the ability to collaborate with various teams to meet the organization’s data needs.

This is a hybrid position that has a 6am starting time. The position is based in downtown Montréal.

LINGUISTIC REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree Finance, or a related quantitative field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 4 years of experience in data management, with a focus on asset management, financial services, or pricing/valuation.
  • Experience with financial and trading systems (Bloomberg, Bloomberg AIM, Eagle, Burgiss etc.).
  • Understanding of financial markets, instruments, and market data.
  • Understanding of data governance and master data management principles.
  • Proficiency in SQL and relational databases.
  • Experience with ETL processes
  • Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards for data management.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and enforce rigorous data quality standards and best practices.
  • Assess and improve the quality of data through data profiling and validation processes.
  • Proactively communicate with stakeholders to understand their data needs and expectations and inform them of data issues.
  • Conduct constant monitoring of data quality, identifying and addressing issues in a timely manner.
  • Understand and implement data governance policies and procedures to maintain data quality and integrity.
  • Investigate valuation issues or any pricing errors by performing deep-dive analysis of the operating procedure and/or systems workflow, and implement a corrective action plan, if required.
  • Provide support to the firm’s data analysts and portfolio managers, ensuring they have access to clean and reliable data.
  • Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) for data quality and generate reports for stakeholders and management.
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation of the corporate data environment, including data models, data dictionaries, and metadata, to provide clear insights for data consumers.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their documentation needs and tailor documentation accordingly.
  • Validate financial data before the beginning of the trading day
  • Investigate financial product valuation to ensure the adequacy of prices and metrics
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to establish validation criteria on a diversified array of financial products, indices and other market data.
