Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION

Global Valuation Services is aligned to the Corporate Investment Bank and provides asset prices for marketable securities and other financial assets. The Pricing team is responsible for the capture and validation of security prices used to calculate and submit daily and monthly NAVs subject to time sensitive deliverable deadlines. Functions performed by the wider team in North America include: Client directed daily customized pricing for production of mutual fund NAVs reported to NASDAQ; Customized daily pricing for European based mutual fund clients; Pricing for institutional and retirement investment plans; pricing for Hedge Fund Services clients, pricing Prime Brokerage client positions and pricing trader position via the End of Day process.
As a Global Valuation Services Pricing Analyst, you will be working in a team environment to deliver accurate and timely asset pricing services through a wide range of activities such as: maintaining a strict control environment, performing value add analysis and collaborating with internal teams to develop scalable production processes.
The Global Valuation Services group has access to firm wide training available to improve skills and learn new capabilities. There is opportunity to learn about new automation tools and take ownership of processes to improve capacity, efficiency and control.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, CAPABILITIES, AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor degree with preference in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field
  • 1 plus year of industry experience
  • Analytical/problem solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to trouble shoot exceptions and issues quickly to avoid market exposure
  • Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to work in a team and work accurately and under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • The role holder will be required to operate flexible working hours to cover early starts and/or late finishes as demanded by the business
  • MS Excel skills, including pivot tables and v-look ups
  • Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate within a team environment and interact across departments. Demonstrate customer focus and follow-up skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, CAPABILITIES, AND SKILLS

  • Knowledge of industry activities, particularly corporate actions, index tracking, stock markets, and fixed income products
  • 1 plus year asset Pricing or NAV/ Fund accounting experience, preferred but not required
  • Pricing vendor knowledge, i.e. Pricing Direct, Bloomberg, Reuters
  • Data analytical skills, i.e. Alteryx

Responsibilities:

  • Daily price capture & validation of all investment types. Analyze asset valuation movements on a daily basis.
  • Analyze price movements against market expectations. Review of price confirmation to ensure validated prices are published accurately
  • Complete all daily, monthly, and ad-hoc tasks and reporting as required accurately and to deadline.
  • Understand the effect that changes in prices and other data elements have on the market value of an account and be sensitive to these changes
  • Investigation of pricing inquiries from business partners and resolve client queries
  • Communication with vendors, as needed
  • Other tasks/ projects related to vendor pricing data as assigned by manager
  • Identifying control gaps and quality deficiencies and look to implement tactical and strategic solutions to prevent re-occurrence
  • Support audit requests through evidence retrieval and review of pricing activities
