The Health Data Analyst will be responsible for supporting the development of analytical methodology using Home and Community care data to create internal and external-facing reports. As part of the role, the Analyst will work in cross-functional teams with stakeholders who have varying technical knowledge to identify analysis requirements, inform data collection, prepare and analyze data.
To perform their duties, the Analyst will need to have analytics experience using large data sets and business intelligence tools. The Analyst will also need to have excellent verbal and written communications skills. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills are required to manage the Analyst’s multiple concurrent priorities.
Here is what you will be doing:
- Support Home and Community Support Services (HCCSS) and health partner planning by developing in-depth analysis of health sector data
- Ensure accuracy of data by recognizing, investigating and validating data quality
- Present data analyses as required in formal and informal settings, both within the sector and to health sector partners.
- Performs other assignments and special projects in support of team and departmental objectives, such as processing documentations and aggregating information
Here is what you will need to be successful:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in an Information Management, Policy, epidemiology, economics, or other technical or health related
- 1-2 years of data analysis experience
- Experience in managing and manipulating large data sets
- Proficiency with Excel
- Previous experience developing or creating analytic products using Business Intelligence tools (e.g. PowerBI) is an asset
- Familiarity with a statistical analysis platform (e.g. SPSS or SAS)
- Familiarity with SQL
Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to meet changing priorities
- Demonstrated experience working in a collaborative team environment
