INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND OPERATIONS SPECIALIST

We have an internship position for candidates with exceptional coding skills and an interestin developing a career in financial services/asset management to gain an in-depth understanding of how the hedge fund industry works by helping us to build the IT systems and architecture to support a growing and dynamic hedge fund business. The successful candidate will work closely with our operations team and traders to specify and build the systems to support a complex hedge fund investment business. High-performing interns will be considered for full-time offers.

QUALIFICATIONS / PROFILE

o Degree level qualification or Final Year students working towards graduating in computer science with expertise in data science and proficiency in coding using one or more of the following languages: Python, SQL, C++, and Excel VBA
o Experience in Azure SQL database management will be a plus
o Experience in Financial Information eXchange (FIX) protocol will be a plus
o Experience in cyber-security, network management and desk-top IT will be a plus
o Willingness to learn and support a range of business management activities within the firm including Investment, Research, Finance/Accounting, Operations and Compliance
o Good communication and interpersonal skills, having the ability to bridge communication gaps between trading and technology
o Proactive, enthusiastic, motivated, self-drive

o The jobholder will work with our team to enhance overall business efficiency. This includes looking into our front-to-back workflows, from platform integration and trade capture, operational process improvement, to MIS reporting for management decision
o The jobholder will be responsible for coding the automation of a variety of daily operational workflows
o This will involve the automation of various operational processes, building and management of regulatory trade reporting systems, and the integration of trading, research and operations systems
o Manage the existing codebase and document changes when required
o In addition, the incumbent would need to maintain the database for reporting purposes, as well as work with various stakeholders to connect/maintain APIs through FIX connectivity
