EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- 2nd or 3rd year Engineering student in any engineering background
- Strong analytical capabilities and experience in Excel
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral; experience in PowerPoint is an asset
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proven ability to collaborate with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Team player with an ability to work effectively in a team setting, as well as independently
- Strong time management skills and the ability to multi-task
- Experience working at a mine site or in a engineering project setting is an asset
- Ability and willingness to travel to the Great Bear site for up to 1 week at a time
Responsibilities:
PURPOSE OF ROLE
The Great Bear project is a development-stage asset located in the renowned and prolific Red Lake mining district and represents one of the most exciting recent gold discoveries globally. The project has excellent potential to become a top-tier deposit that could support a large, long-life mine complex. Kinross’ comprehensive exploration and development program will aim to support the vision of a quality, high-grade, open-pit mine and a longer-term, sizeable underground mine. Currently the Great Bear project is working through engineering studies as well as working on the development of an Advanced Exploration Project (AEX).
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The analyst intern will support current business needs, which may vary over the course of the internship. A successful intern should be flexible and eager to take on new and different tasks to support the business and expand their learning opportunities. The following is a list of areas where the Great Bear Project commonly needs support.
The analyst intern will be a part of the Great Bear Project Management Team based on Toronto. This is a fully integrated team of ~30 people in various disciplines and specialties helping to deliver the Great Bear project.
