Description:

Temporary position for 18 months

As a legal affairs analyst, you help protect the organization’s legal interests by ensuring it complies with all laws. You also play a key role in making sure that its rights are protected and obligations are met. You may be responsible for one or more sub-specialties, such as contested matters and the Office of the Corporate Secretary (ethics and professional conduct, official registries, meeting minutes, the general meeting, etc.). You analyze and help diagnose issues, provide opinions in accordance with your discipline’s rules, and help develop recommendations and implementation plans. You develop tools, methods and processes. Your projects and initiatives require extensive knowledge of your line of work. You share ideas and help solve problems using your analytical skills, extensive knowledge of your line of business and ability to manage complexity. You interact with stakeholders working in other fields. You provide discipline-specific support to your unit, clients and partners. More specifically, you will be required to :

  • Advise and assist clients on how to interpret and apply laws, regulations, standards, policies and guidelines
  • Support the more experienced professionals in your unit by performing legal research and analysis and preparing reports, opinions and summaries
  • Identify, input, analyze and interpret data to inform management decision-making and monitor the application of management policies and practices. Make recommendations
  • Analyze risks and write reports. Prepare recommendations and provide advice on how to implement them
  • Help develop, update and implement policies, procedures, standards and tools related to your line of work
  • Serve as resource person for your unit, clients and partners.

What you bring to the table

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience
  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
  • Member of the Quebec Bar
  • Knowledge of French is required
