Position Summary:
Responsible for assisting in all activities associated with the capital spend portfolio within the MPLX G&P Segment. Performs all work in compliance with company standards, procedures, and governmental requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates and manages all activities associated with the preparation, reporting, presentation, and management of the G&P capital budgets to ensure success of the organization and business partner objectives.
  • Collaborates with organization and business partner personnel to facilitate execution of all project work assigned to the organization through assignment of priorities, allocation of funds, optimization of the project portfolio mix, and regular reporting of project status/activity.
  • Serves as the Subject Matter Expert of the organization policy and, when appropriate, business partner use/support of organizational software tools.
  • Analyzes, develops, recommends, and implements improvements in the project forecasting process, cost management procedures, and planning procedures to achieve overall organization and business partner objectives and promote consistency.
  • Collects and analyzes past project performance and resource utilization data for future project estimates and schedules.
  • Analyzes database information to determine accuracy, status and compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Interfaces with Project Controls, Project Leaders, management, and internal business units to resolve outstanding issues, promote effective and timely flow of operating/financial information and develop/maintain strong working relationships.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related field
  • 4-10 years of experience in an accounting, finance, or cost management.
  • Related industry experience preferred
  • Excellent financial analytical skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Customer service oriented
  • Ability to lead change, develop new processes, and improve existing processes
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently – coordinates, prioritizes, and executes many tasks at any one time.
  • Prior experience with Oracle and SAP a plus
