JOB DESCRIPTION

This proposed position aims to support the Global Maintenance, Continuous Improvement and Innovation function in providing a proactive analysis capability to uncover improvement opportunities and work on solving and answering sites maintenance related specific issues that cannot be resolved locally due to existing constraints on resources and/or capabilities
Amongst other activities, the Operations Analyst will support the Corporate Operations Team on developing functional analysis on the different site Continuous Improvement and Asset Management groups to assess improvement opportunities but also detailed comparison of mobile and fixed equipment performance that will ultimately support specific improvement initiatives like: Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) Analysis, Reliability Analysis, Preventive Maintenance Optimization, etc.

EXPERIENCE

  • 1-3 Years of experience performing data analysis for equipment and processes optimization is an asset
  • 1-3 Years of experience in a natural resource industry, in an area that demonstrates experience in continuous improvements projects and/or the execution of turnarounds and/or strong exposure to innovation concepts and deployment is considered an asset
  • Must have experience in and intuition for managing ambiguity and uncertainty in an operation’s primary input(s).
  • Demonstrated experience in participating in the resolution of complex or technical and operational problems
  • Understanding of project management tools and techniques.

EDUCATION & SKILLSET

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Experience in the use of data analysis tools like Matlab, Minitab, Maple, etc. an asset
  • Advanced knowledge of Power BI an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical, planning and organizational skills.
  • Experience with managing and synthesizing large amounts of data and appropriate tools to do so.
  • Ability to measure success through data and metrics.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work both in a team environment and independently.
  • Proficient at working effectively on multiple projects.
  • General knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, ORACLE, JDE, etc.) an asset
  • Desire to work on mine sites directly with heavy machinery.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Position will require travel to Kinross global operations and suppliers, up to 50% of the time.
