Description:

  • Great opportunity to join our Wholesale Markets Intermediary Compliance team
  • Undertake surveillance of private credit and private equity funds
  • Permanent position, Sydney or Melbourne location, hybrid working arrangements (50:50)
  • Salary range $118,925 - $139,100 + 15.4 % superannuation
    The team
The Market Conduct team seeks to ensure trust and confidence in Australia’s financial markets by regulating wholesale funds (private equity and private credit) and market intermediaries (including market participants, investment banks, securities dealers and issuers of over the counter (OTC) products). We carry out surveillances of conduct and compliance with financial services laws to identify and disrupt misconduct and emerging threats that risk harming consumers or market integrity, working closely with enforcement teams.
The Wholesale Markets Intermediary Compliance (WMIC) team sits within the Market Conduct and is responsible for supervising the conduct of wholesale OTC intermediaries and issuers, and wholesale funds (private credit and private equity). Wholesale markets are critical to the Australian economy for funding and risk management and have grown rapidly in recent years. The WMIC team undertakes surveillance of wholesale market intermediaries’ conduct, and their management of conduct risks and contributes to the development of market conduct standards. These actions seek to uphold integrity and confidence in Australian wholesale markets by identifying and disrupting misconduct, raising and harmonising standards and promoting a level playing field between participants.
