Job Summary:
Reporting to the Principal, the Analyst will be part of the HOOPP Real Estate Investment Management team which is responsible for all HOOPP Real Estate investments globally including acquisitions, dispositions, portfolio and asset management, developments and debt. The Analyst will be responsible for assisting the Real Estate Investment team with its activities across North America.

What you will do:

  • Evaluate and analyze potential investments, developments, dispositions, partnerships (including joint ventures, club deals and funds), as well as tax and financial structures using Excel, Argus and various other modeling tools.
  • Assist in the due diligence process and preparation of investment reports and presentation materials.
  • Conduct detailed macro and micro market research on existing or new sectors and markets.
  • Monitor and forecast portfolio performance and risk metrics to assist the team in making portfolio management decisions.
  • Support the team in various portfolio and asset management analysis, including underwriting owned assets, lease analysis, disposition analysis and redevelopment analysis.
  • Monitor new trends in the industry and assess potential impacts on the real estate portfolio.
  • Liaise with finance staff on issues related to financial accounting and reporting on real estate investments.
  • Other analysis and projects, as required.
  • Attend real estate functions, conferences and property tours.

What you bring:

  • Very well-developed Excel modelling capabilities.
  • Minimum academic requirements of an undergraduate degree, preferably in business, real estate, finance, planning or a related discipline.
  • To carry out the job successfully the incumbent should have a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in the commercial real estate industry with a focus on investment, development or asset management.
  • Strong analytical skills and results oriented.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness is very important along with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Argus experience is considered an asset.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction as well as part of a team.
  • Positive and collaborative attitude.
  • Strong problem solving and organizational skills, together with excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce effective reports.
