We are seeking a Revenue Analyst and a Pricing Analyst to join our Pricing & Revenue Management Team. This individual can exhibit a high standard of excellence, enjoys challenges, and is results-driven. The individual must be highly motivated and demonstrate the ability to work in an agile environment.
The Revenue Management team manages day to day and long-term strategic revenue optimization for WestJet. What is Revenue Management? It isn’t accounting and it exists in many industries. It is why roses cost more on Valentine’s Day than the week after, why hotel rooms in Las Vegas cost more on the weekend than mid-week, and why sometimes there are seat sales for flights many months in advance. Using forecasts of future demand and continual re-optimization of fares, in-depth analysis and market strategy, the Revenue Management team balances guest promise with supply and demand. Revenue Management is a blend of art and science that requires the combination of strategic thinking and business acumen and an acute ability to make high impact decisions.

Key deliverables include:

  • Reporting to the Manager, Revenue Management, you will be accountable for planning, analyzing, and optimizing the forecasts and seat inventory availability on a portfolio of routes worth over $100 million annually to help maximize WestJet’s unit revenue. This involves identifying new strategies and route management to ensure WestJet continues to be on the forefront of the competitive landscape and meets overall strategic goals
  • Responsible for developing, leading, and executing complex financial and strategic revenue management initiatives to support department and corporate initiatives and projects to directly enhance revenue and profitability throughout the WestJet and WestJet Encore route network
  • Analyze changes in market conditions such as capacity, competition, schedules and inventory to develop, implement and track appropriate forecast and seat inventory strategies with the objective to achieve and exceed PRASM targets
  • Extract and manipulate large data sets to regularly analyze competitive landscape, devise strategies and evaluate results
  • Work closely with Network and Schedule Planning, Marketing, Sales, IT, Alliances, Rewards, Vacations, Product and Revenue Accounting to jointly achieve network and revenue goals
  • Demonstrate ownership and fulfill assigned collateral duty and ad-hoc projects successfully
  • Recommend improvements to processes and reports
  • Assist in implementing new business process changes and reporting
  • Develop and effectively communicate market/pricing strategies to leadership team and teammates
  • Monitor KPI performance, proactively adjusting and communicating strategies needed to meet goals
  • Demonstrate initiative consistently and manage a more challenging scope of markets in terms of unit revenue and business growth with limited supervision
  • Assist in implementing business process changes and new reporting
  • Other duties as assigned
