Reporting to the Senior Director, Portfolio Construction & Risk, we are currently seeking a Portfolio Construction Analyst / Senior Analyst to join the Portfolio Construction & Risk team to contribute to portfolio analysis and research activities, as well as to the elaboration of tools, reports and processes aiming at improving firm-wide portfolio construction.

This is a hybrid position requiring at least 3 days per week at our office in downtown Montreal.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field, Master’s degree preferred
  • CFA, CAIA, FRM, PRM and/or actuarial professional designation, an asset
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant industry experience, specific role/title will depend on experience level
  • Strong programming skills (Python, Matlab, R, C++, SQL, Java, etc.) and experience with Excel/VBA
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Rigorous, disciplined and well organized
  • Excellent team player, yet autonomous and dynamic work style
  • Desire to keep up with the latest developments in portfolio construction and quantitative research
  • Bilingual (spoken/written) French and English, essentia

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to portfolio construction analysis and portfolio research activities, including impact analysis of trades considered to be added to the portfolio
  • Assist in the development of tools, reports and processes aimed at improving portfolio construction and risk management across the firm’s mandates
  • Analyze portfolio positioning and recommend transactions to optimize portfolios and strategies
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative investment research projects to refine portfolio understanding and improve portfolio exposures and diversification
  • Assist in the risk analysis of various investment strategies, recommend improvements
  • Maintain close inter-departmental ties, including with Traders, Portfolio Managers, IT and Operations teams
  • Additional tasks required by the position
