Reporting to the Supervisor, Telemetry and Haulage, the Analyst, Telemetry Systems is responsible for assisting a high performing team to deliver and maintain groundbreaking digital mining technology. These technologies include autonomous and tele-remote equipment, rugged mobile computers, end-to-end sensorization of heavy equipment, and asset health systems that optimize fleet efficiency and availability via real-time monitoring. This outstanding individual has strong capabilities to find solutions to complex problems and demonstrates a high level of learning agility. We are looking for a teammate who has sophisticated analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities, along with experience supporting a complex network of servers, software platforms and databases. Further, this individual has excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills to build and manage collaborations throughout the company and with our vendors.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer or Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of General Computer Controls related to operations, information security, evolution strategy system software, application source code, network, electronics, command line, and system database technologies
  • Experience delivering and supporting information technology services in an industrial setting, preferably in mining
  • Detailed technical writing and documentation experience
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies for pipelining and processing large datasets
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems, virtualization, Active Directory and computer networking fundamentals
  • Experience working with ServiceNow or alternative ticketing systems
  • Familiarity with PowerBI, Tableau or similar for generating key performance measures of success
  • Strong commitment to customer satisfaction and the ability to maintain strong relationships with business partners, management, end users and vendors
  • Programming experience with C#, Python, JavaScript, SQL Server, shell scripting and source control
  • Strong multi-functional team participant and collaborative approach to problem solving
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a highly distributed team environment
  • Excellent analytical, root cause analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals relating to wireless networking, firewalls, and knowledge of common network protocols
  • Valid class five drivers’ license, with a clean driving record, comfortable operating 4WD vehicles in challenging terrain
  • Capacity to follow a rotating 24/7 on-call support schedule

Responsibilities:

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Assist in the assessment, design, implementation, and accurate mass deployment of sensor and edge computing technology projects towards improving the safety, sustainability, and productivity of mobile mining assets
  • Collect and visualize data from heavy equipment sensors and onboard computers to end users
  • Support innovation in predictive maintenance that employs Artificial Intelligence, complex data, Cloud, and Internet of Things technologies
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to resolve sophisticated technical problems
  • Develop and leverage relationships across mining sites and corporate offices to facilitate alignment of objectives and encourage communication and collaboration between operations
  • Curate and support solutions to meet the business objectives of the Mine Operations, Engineering, and Operating Excellence departments at all mining operations
  • Facilitate and support cyber-security improvements, incident response, and forensics
