Responsibilities:

  • Develops inventory management strategies, goals and action plans, is responsible for passenger revenue performance for assigned long haul trains and markets based on budget forecasts, capacity and demand.
  • Optimizes seat allocations at train level to maximize revenues using VIA’s revenue management forecasting tool. Analyzes data to forecast passenger demand by train / booking class.
  • Proactively signals revenue risks to related commercial departments (Product, Sales and Network Planning). Ensures market strategies and challenges are properly communicated and all groups aligned. Acquires competitive data from Sales group, makes capacity recommendations to Network Planning group, notifies Product and Advertising groups regarding sales initiatives.
  • Monitors RM KPI (ARRs, segment and OD reports, RASM, etc). Analyzes competition and trains on a daily basis with a focus on critical trains. Measures performance results, adjusts strategies to maximize revenues.
  • Supports the creation, maintenance and distribution of Revenue Management and Commercial reports. Confirmation of groups in queue based on the allocation strategies of other Train Revenue Analysts
