Description:
We believe our people are the key to our success and, as such, are looking for a bright and experienced Analyst to join our Finance team.
- Permanent, full-time position
- $70,000 - $90,000 + super

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Must have 1+ years experience in similar roles
- Must have formal education at Bachelor’s level or above in information technology/computer science and business/finance
- Demonstration of high level communication skills both in a verbal and written context is critical
- Demonstrate experience working with investment data & investment functions: funds management, financial results analysis, investment decision making, accounting data, cash flow reporting, investment data
- Key systems experience preferred: IRESS investment management, Sage accounting system (or equivalent), Bloomberg or FactSet investment reporting & analysis systems.
- Efficient skills in Office applications
- Demonstrate study or experience of writing scripts to report from data sets
- Experience with investments is advantageous e.g. working in funds management, investment bank, investment company, stock broking firm etc.

Responsibilities:
- Confirm daily investment transactions in our investment management system (IRESS) to counterparty records. Ensure accuracy of data loaded across reporting systems – accounting, investment system and cash reporting
- Handling classification and reporting of cash transaction data – one of the most significant metrics at Soul Patts. Ensure validity of results by reconciling to the accounting system, bank source data and investment data.
- Develop and maintain databases for business critical data of investment values and cash income performance.
- Development of scripts/code for the databases to perform analytical tasks and data visualisations for management.
- Develop understanding of the business, strategies and investments to allow increasing analytical support and evaluation of the reporting results
- Recommend on data governance processes and improvements
- Prepare payments relating to investment purchases and prepare any urgent ad hoc payments
- Meet weekly with the wider finance team to collaborate on more complex transactions.
- Liaise with our internal investment teams, brokers and share registries to settle transactional data issues and resolve outstanding matters
- Meet strict month-end timelines on data entry, reconciliation and reporting
- Perform any other reasonable duties, as requested
