JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Financial Analyst to join our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team, focusing on SG&A expenses within the pharmaceutical division. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Senior Manager of FP&A Pharma Consolidation & SG&A by providing financial insights, performing analysis, and contributing to the budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes. Additionally, this role involves consolidating the overall P&L for the Pharma division, integrating data from various segments to create a cohesive financial narrative that supports strategic decision-making at the senior management level.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in Finance or Accounting; an accounting designation (e.g., CPA, CFA) is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in FP&A, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong understanding of SG&A expenses and cost management in a corporate environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with financial modeling.
  • Experience with financial systems (e.g., Hyperion, SAP, Oracle) and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills and a proactive, problem-solving attitude.
    The incumbent of this position will provide daily support to internal and/or external clients outside Quebec and/or in the United States. Responsibilities:

Duties and responsibilities generally include but are not limited to:

  • Lead the preparation of SG&A budgets, forecasts, and strategic plans
  • Analyze and monitor SG&A expense trends, identifying key drivers and providing actionable insights to management.
  • Prepare variance analysis and commentary on actual results versus budget/forecast, explaining the financial impact of deviations.
  • Track, analyze, and forecast headcount and related expenses, ensuring alignment with SG&A budgets and business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive SG&A reporting packages for senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports related to SG&A expenses.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure alignment between actuals and forecasted results.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including QA, Pharma Sales/Customer Care, IT, Procurement, and other departments, to support SG&A financial planning and decision-making.
  • Provide financial expertise and guidance to department heads to drive cost efficiency and optimize SG&A expenditures.
  • Present financial reports and insights to cost center leaders, ensuring they have a clear understanding of their financial performance and its impact on the overall Pharma P&L.
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations for executive leadership, summarizing financial performance and strategic initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate FP&A processes related to SG&A, consolidation, reporting, and analysis.
  • Lead or support initiatives to enhance financial modeling, forecasting accuracy, and reporting tools.
  • Implement best practices in SG&A expense management and financial planning processes.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support special projects, strategic initiatives, and management requests.
  • Provide scenario analysis and sensitivity testing to assess the financial impact of potential business decisions.
  • Consolidate financial data from various segments, including sales, selling margin, warehouse expenses, and delivery expenses, to build a complete and accurate P&L for the Pharma division.
  • Analyze the consolidated P&L to provide a high-level overview of the Pharma group’s financial performance, identifying key trends and potential risks.
  • Collaborate with other analysts responsible for specific segments to ensure accurate and timely integration of their forecasts into the overall P&L.
