Why you
Illumina are seeking an analytical chemist with experience using HPLC and LC-MS, to join the team on a 12-month fixed term contract in our European Head Office in Cambridge, UK. You will be comfortable working to SOPs likely with some industrial experience. The role will involve developing, qualifying and transferring analytical methods to characterize components and processes that underpin the chemistries used in Illumina’s technologies.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Developing analytical methods to characterize and quality control existing materials & processes.
- Analytical method verification, validation & transfer from R&D to UK manufacturing.
- Providing support for internal manufacturing operations.
- Maintaining analytical equipment and operating procedures.
- Written and verbal communication of plans, procedures and results.
Education, Experience & Attributes required:
- Degree in chemical sciences or equivalent subject with some industrial analytical chemistry experience.
- Expertise with HPLC and LC-MS is essential.
- Experience using Agilent OpenLab HPLC software would be an advantage.
- A working knowledge of ICH Guidelines for method development and validation.
- Experience working under Good Laboratory Practice and ISO standards would be an advantage.
- Strong theoretical and practical analytical chemistry skills.
- Ability to work as part of a highly efficient, collaborative team.
- Self-motivated and able to produce results to a deadline.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
