Here’s how a(n) Analytics Analyst for our Edmonton Industrial Management office contributes to our team:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and data modeling.
  • Comfortable with SQL and experience working with relational and nonrelational data stores.
  • Exposure to ETL processes, databases, and data governance practices.
  • Visual design and selection of most appropriate visualization techniques.
  • Exposure to a modern agile development workflow is an asset.
  • A track record of creating impactful dashboards and analytics solutions.
  • Business analysis: Experience working with cross-functional teams to translate business goals into analytical tasks.
  • Experience in construction or AEC fields is a benefit, but not necessary.
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
  • Self-management: Ability to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously and manage deadlines appropriately.

Responsibilities:

  • Visualization Design and Development: Build and enhance Power BI dashboards, ensuring data accuracy, intuitive design, and performance optimization.
  • Data Modeling: Create and maintain efficient data models within Power BI, employing Power Query and DAX to perform data transformations and calculations. Maintain ERD models for reference outside of PowerBI
  • Collaboration: Work with line-of-business and project teams to gather requirements and translate business questions into actionable analytical solutions. Partner with IT and data professionals to design technical backend and innovate on current practices.
  • Simplification: Help identify where we can simplify, streamline, and automate our reporting.
  • Training & Support: Serve as the in-house expert on Power BI, providing training sessions, documentation, and best practices to end-users.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current on Power BI updates, features, and industry trends to recommend and implement innovative solutions.
