Job Purpose:
The Data Analytics team is part of the Data Office within TMHCC. We have the responsibility of creating reporting capabilities throughout the organisation. The Data Analytics team primary roles are:-
- To create and maintain reporting capabilities for TMHCC
- To provide SME expertise on reporting tools and techniques
- To identify opportunities for data acquisition
- Management of Power BI Services
Key Responsibilities:
Forge strategic partnerships with key business stakeholders to gain a deep understanding of their analytics needs. Utilise expert insights to effectively communicate tailored solutions through rapid prototyping and iterative development.
Additionally:
- Demonstrate best practices in creating reports, dashboards, or extracts.
- Identify the most appropriate data sources for reporting requirements.
- Document reporting requirements at a sufficient level.
- Liaise with other Data departments to ensure remote data sources are integrated into the central data repository.
- Assist in creating a Centre of Excellence for Data Analytics by establishing standards, controls, and best practices that support a federated Data Analytics Operating Model.
- Educate TMHCC employees on reporting best practices.
- Represent the Data Analytics department.
- Document the reporting capability to an appropriate level for colleague enhancement.
- Support and assist user queries regarding reporting.
- Provide admin support for the Microsoft Power BI platform.
- Collaborate closely with IT Stakeholders.
- Be an active and supportive member of the Data Analytics Team.
Skills and Experience Specification:
- Knowledge of Analytics or related data skill
- Experience of working within a small to medium sized Analytics Teams
- Business analysis and requirements gathering skills to understand and document the business processes, data flows, controls, business need and align multiple stakeholders’ requirements.
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders
- Experience of working in an Agile environment.
- Ability to tell compelling stories with Data
- Understanding of databases (SQL Server, Snowflake) and data modelling
- Experience in creating dashboards and reports using Power BI
- Previous experience in insurance, including Lloyd’s or London Market based.
- A willingness to learn and implement new skills
