Description:

An Andrology Practitioner post in the Andrology Department at the Centre for Reproductive Medicine, University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire.
We have a vacancy for an Andrology Practitioner in the Centre for Reproductive Medicine (CRM) at UHCW
We are looking for a scientist with knowledge and experience of working in an andrology laboratory however we can provide training if necessary. It is essential that you have some previous experience of working in a biological science lab and background knowledge of male reproduction and fertility
It is a full time post working 8am to 4.00pm, Monday to Friday

Routine semen analysis
Morphology assessment
Post vasectomy semen assessment
Sperm cryopreservation and post thaw assessment
General laboratory tasks including: maintenance and cleaning, ordering of disposable items, stock taking and filing, monitoring of equipment, preparation of laboratory solutions, photocopying, note finding, answering the phone and making appointments, posting results and patient information.
Participation in internal and external Quality Control and Quality Assurance procedures
Maintenance of liquid nitrogen storage tanks.

This post will be within the clinical Andrology service to carry out the laboratory and administrative tasks required to enable the Andrology service at the Centre for Reproductive medicine to provide semen assessment and sperm storage.
To act in accordance with Trust, Divisional and Departmental policies.
Accurate recording of all patient information and results adhering to strict patient confidentiality practices.
Effective communication with patients and other members of the team to ensure the smooth and successful running of the unit.
Adherence to good laboratory practices, with particular respect to the safety of the patients and staff, throughout all the procedures performed.
Utilisation of adequate hygiene and aseptic techniques as appropriate to each laboratory.
