JOB SUMMARY
As an Animal Health Technician for our Toxicology team in Laval, you will be responsible for the well-being of our laboratory animals. Your contribution will ensure the health of our animals, as well as the integrity of our pre-clinical studies.
In this role, primary responsibilities include:
- Collection of biological samples (blood, urine, etc.)
- Data collection (body weight, food consumption, clinical signs, etc.)
- Injections (subcutaneous, intramuscular, etc.)
- Animal contention
- Animal room cleaning
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for the following minimum qualifications for this role:
- College Diploma in Animal Health, Bioecology or any related Animal Science discipline
- Bachelor’s degree in biology or any related discipline
- Good observation skills
- Able to work physically (lift up to 20 kg, walk, stand, stoop, etc.)
- Understanding of written English is mandatory. Bilingualism French and English is preferable.
Please note that upon being hired, you will have to undergo an annual tuberculosis test at the expense of the company.
Responsibilities:
ROLE SPECIFIC INFORMATION:
- Location: Laval / Free parking / Near the subway Montmorency
- Salary: Starting at 23$/hrs. Opportunity to start at higher level and higher salary with specific research experience
- Based on performance, salary could increase to $24/hrs in 1 year
- Premiums: Evening (2.50$/hrs), night (3.25$/hrs) and weekend (2.75$//hrs)
- Schedule: Flexible schedule, the candidate must be available days, evenings, and weekends. Depending on the needs, you may have to do overtime and/or night shifts on occasion
- Permanent position as of the hiring, full-time 37.5hrs per week
