We’re looking for an Animal Studies Unit Coordinator and Instructor to take the lead in ensuring the highest standards of animal care while supporting and inspiring the next generation of animal management professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Leading the day-to-day care and welfare of our animals, including feeding, health checks, and enrichment activities.
- Coordinating staffing rotas to ensure the smooth operation of the unit all year round.
- Supervising and instructing students in hands-on animal husbandry tasks, helping them develop essential industry skills.
- Maintaining accurate records and liaising with vets, external agencies, and regulatory bodies to uphold the highest welfare standards.
- Managing resources, ensuring budget efficiency for animal feed, bedding, and equipment.
- Working closely with academic staff to support practical lessons and assessments.
- Engaging with marketing to showcase our work on social media.
