POSITION SUMMARY

The Annual Giving Manager works with the Executive Director of Development to create comprehensive, strategic and integrated strategies which celebrate philanthropy, meaningfully engage constituents, and inspire support for Oregon Tech. The Annual Giving Manager leads and implements all aspects of annual giving campaign including creative marketing initiatives and logistical requirements for direct mail fundraising, phone-a-thon fundraising, electronic fundraising, giving days, faculty and staff fundraising, special events, and personal solicitation of annual donor prospects and donors maintained in a portfolio. This position is vital to building the donor pipeline and increasing alumni giving.
As part of the management of the annual giving program, the Annual Giving Manager is responsible for making decisions regarding implementation of fundraising plans, reporting progress towards goals, assessing effectiveness of fundraising efforts, maintaining records and correspondence files, and making recommendations for program improvement. The program is coordinated with a matrix of communications, designed to move constituents through the stages of fundraising the pipeline including: identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.
The ideal candidate for this position will possess strong writing and communication skills, proven history of successful project management, a keen eye for creative marketing and design, and a passion for inspiring philanthropy in others, as well as the ability to thoroughly analyze and report data. The Annual Giving Manager must be able to create strong, positive collaborations with others including development staff, faculty and staff in various departments and locations, and volunteers.
The location of this position is negotiable between the Klamath Falls, OR campus & the Portland-Metro campus, located in Wilsonville, OR.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • A Bachelor’s degree AND three (3) years of experience in fundraising, sales, or marketing. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. Ability to use at a high level of competency e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills and proficiency in English grammar, spelling, and preparing clear and concise correspondence for diverse constituencies.
  • Must be articulate and have excellent interpersonal communications skills for presentations and interaction with donors and prospects.
  • Must have ability to be resourceful in researching issues and creating effective solutions.
  • The ability to work well both independently and collaboratively with other team members and colleagues across campuses, prioritizing time and managing multiple projects, priorities and deadlines.
  • Must have strong organizational skills and proven track record of managing complex projects, and the ability to implement plans and host events
  • Proficiency in software including Microsoft Office suite, database applications, and graphic design software
  • Ability to be discreet and handle highly sensitive/confidential information in a responsible manner.
  • Must be able to work weekends and evenings as needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Five (5) or more years of experience in fundraising, sales, or marketing
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge database (or CRM software)
  • Proficient with graphic design software
  • Any certifications related to fundraising or non-profit management
