Description:

To provide efficient and organised administrative support to the Antenatal clinic and Maternity Department. The ability to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues and other members of staff from all professional groups is essential.

There will be a Monday to Friday working pattern. Full and half days considered, you will be asked in your interview your preferred working pattern.

  • Manage the day to day clinic administration, ensuring that correct procedures are implemented and monitored.
  • To use own initiate to maintain stationary stocks, answer queries, and forward relevant communication to staff.
  • To maintain notes and records systems ensuring that all notes are compiled in the correct order and in a timely fashion.
  • Order supplies and equipment using the Trust procurement system under the guidance of the Clinic Manager.
  • To greet service users in an efficient and friendly manner.
  • To manage telephone enquiries sensitively and initiate appropriate action.
  • Manage and prioritise incoming correspondence.
  • Check patient demographics and amend as necessary.
  • Accurate data entry onto the maternity system.
  • Accurate updating of patient information data.
  • There may be additional clerical duties based upon specific clinic needs.
  • Participate in the training and induction of new staff as required.
  • Ensure the smooth running of the clinic by providing an initial point of contact for telephone/e-mail or face to face enquiries.
  • Cross cover all areas of Women & Children’s Division.
  • Reception duties.
