Education - essential for the position
A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience relevant to the position.
Degree equivalency
Operational Certification - essential for the position
Locomotive engineer; or
Rail Traffic Controller (transportation); or
Certified car inspector; or
Track maintenance foreman (engineering services)
Note: Occupational certification need not be valid at the time of application.
Experience - essential for the position
Minimum 7 years of experience total working in the railway industry under one or more of the following streams:
Stream A - Railway Operations:
Locomotive engineer; or
Rail traffic controller
Stream B – Railway Equipment:
Rolling stock (cars, locomotives) inspection, maintenance, or repair;
or
Design, modification, or testing of rolling stock and their components
Stream C – Railway Infrastructure:
Railway track and structures inspection and maintenance
