Tetra Tech Inc., a global leader in consulting and engineering services, is seeking an experienced Tax Director - APAC to lead and drive tax strategy, compliance, and governance across the region.
Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Tax Director for APAC, you will report directly to the Vice President of International Tax and oversee a team of two. You’ll take charge of tax operations across Australia and the broader APAC region, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to navigate complex tax challenges and capitalize on opportunities in a fast-evolving landscape.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategic Leadership: Shape and lead the regional tax strategy, ensuring compliance with regulations and alignment with global initiatives.
- Tax Governance & Risk: Implement and oversee robust tax controls and manage tax risks across the region.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee tax compliance, including annual returns, indirect taxes, withholding taxes, and employment taxes.
- Business Partnering: Collaborate with Finance, Treasury, and Legal teams on capital structure and international projects, providing expert tax advisory support.
- Stakeholder Management: Foster relationships with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), other tax authorities, and external advisors.
- Team Development: Manage and develop a high-performing APAC tax team, ensuring career growth and operational efficiency.
- What You’ll Bring
- A professional qualification and 10+ years of corporate tax experience in a multinational environment.
- Expertise in Australian tax legislation with exposure to international tax rules.
- Strong knowledge of tax accounting for global organizations.
- Proven success in managing complex tax projects and building collaborative relationships with stakeholders.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, analytical rigor, and attention to detail.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities, both written and verbal.

- Familiarity with US GAAP and tax compliance.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with Oracle systems.
