About the Team
We are a team of technical experts that assists the mobile industry in is generational and digital transformation. This involves understanding the industry drivers, collaborating with; operators, vendors and other actors to provide technical recommendations to specify for wider industry adoption. Our goal is to increase interoperability to accelerate scale adoption of technology principles and practices, thus providing a sustainable economic roadmap for mobile technology.
Our current challenges include networks generational change to 5G, virtualization of network functions and the impacts of digital transitions to IT&T infrastructure and software models.
About the Role
You will support the Technology leadership team (CTO and Senior Directors) to provide the technical expertise and resource for ensuring that the Open Gateway Operators implement CAMARA APIs and authorization flows according to the specifications defined in the GSMA Open Gateway initiative and to provide technical contributions to CAMARA and other groups involved in Open Gateway.
You will need to engage with industry stakeholders’ and internal GSMA departments e.g. Operators, Hyperscalers, API Aggregators and Vendors, to prepare test cases and scripts for the development and implementation of a robust certification program for Open Gateway. Then organize and schedule that test program in a rapidly changing environment.
You will need to demonstrate clear understanding of API test case development and co-ordination of external partners to ensure their API deployments can be tested and certified. Providing accurate records and feedback to improve conformance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Contribute to the development and maintenance of a comprehensive certification process for Open Gateway APIs, encompassing security and compliance standards.
2. Collaborate closely with third-party organizations to guide them through the certification process and ensure their APIs are prepared for testing.
3. Design, execute, and automate test cases and scripts to assess the functionality, security, and performance of the third-party API deployments.
4. Gather requirements and assist in the scoping of the new capability for testing and certification of Open Gateway APIs.
5. Work with cross-functional teams to document and verify that APIs adhere to industry standards and regulations.
6. Provide clear, detailed reports and documentation of API certification results to stakeholders.
7. Communicate effectively with third-party partners, addressing concerns and assisting them in meeting our certification requirements.
10. Contribute to CAMARA and other organizations and working groups involved in Open Gateway
About You
You will be an experienced and diligent API Tester specializing in certifying standard APIs as deployed by third-party organizations. As the API Test Analyst, you will play a vital role in evaluating and confirming that our partners’ APIs are compliant to the industry published standards. Your work will directly impact the roll out and success of Open Gateway.
Relevant experience in an API testing role and development role within the Telecoms, IT&T or Application Service Provider sector appreciated.
You will have a proven track record of interacting with internal and external stakeholders, be able to deliver projects from inception to completion, often involving a broad mix of individuals and companies with diverse skill sets, The ability to prioritise and work autonomously, including working from office and home.
You will be Smart, collaborative, relationship and outcome focused, can demonstrate sound judgement in the escalation of issues and the formulation of solutions, demonstrate attention to detail and understanding of need for high quality documentation.
Capabilities:
- Extensive experience with API testing and in-depth knowledge of REST principles.
- Proven proficiency in writing test cases in Gherkin feature files
- Strong ability to translate test cases into executable test scripts.
- Experience automating test scripts using tools such as Postman
- Ability to create mocks for API testing.
- Competence in creating and maintaining test reports for documentation and communication.
- Familiarity with GitHub and version control practices.
- Highly collaborative individual who can effectively work with global teams, facilitating communication and cooperation, and is confident in presenting test cases and test scripts to stakeholders, partners and team members.
- Knowledge of OAuth2 and OpenID Connect (OIDC) principles - and experience incorporating different OAuth grant types within test scripts including CIBA, Auth Code and Client credentials
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines e.g. Jenkins, and the ability to integrate new tests into existing CI/CD pipelines to enhance test automation processes
