We are now looking for an Appearance Developer to our Textile Platform team.
As Appearance Developer you are a development partner to IKEA Textile platform team. You will lead development and maintenance of the textile appearance library portfolio, and make sure relevant fabric constructions and appearances are included and developed in the right time to be utilized by the Range Areas across the total IKEA offer.

Main responsibilities and tasks:

  • Lead the development, documentation and implementation of digital and physical textile library during the fabric construction lifecycle.
  • Lead development of physical textile library to become a working space, an interaction point for all co-workers involved in textile development.
  • Contribute to digital library development by partnering with developers of tools and processes.
  • Communicate the new textile library process to development teams and other stakeholders.
  • Secure synergies with the innovation development agenda for materials across the value chain.
  • Verify the quality of the physical and digital textile samples and secure the service level for the samples.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

We believe that the ideal candidate has experience and expertise in textile materials and production. Previous experience of working with textile classification/management tools and systems is an advantage. You are a positive, including and curious development partner with a strong can-do attitude. To be successful in this role you need to have excellent self-leadership, strong service focus and enjoy a fast-changing environment with focus on problem solving, creative thinking and prioritizing in a cost-conscious way to meet deadlines. You enjoy building your network, work with and through others to find new and creative ways to ensure execution. You are excellent communicator in English both verbal and written. To be able to enjoy the role it is preferred if you have a strong interest in home furnishings, customer needs, design, style and trends. You should enjoy creating clarity and finding structures.
