Description:
GENERAL SUMMARY
The Application Engineer I duties and responsibilities leads to an overall understanding of fundamental activities of factory sales support to Red Valve/DeZURIK direct and independent sales channels. The Application Engineer I assists in preparing quotations to sales channels based on costs derived from a variety of internal and external sources. This role requires the ability to articulate technical requirements and communicate in a clear format that will allow the product to be quoted to an end user. Advancement requires understanding of the Red Valve/DeZURIK business system, order entry process, products, sales channel support, and factory capabilities to achieve an efficient workflow with acceptable profit margins.
This position is currently eligible for DeZURIK’s hybrid work schedule.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline or 2-year engineering or technical degree and 2+ years of experience in a related field.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Demonstrated self-motivation, commitment to task, problem-solving, and customer orientation required.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously with multiple departments.
- Time management, communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in flow control valves and actuators is preferred.
- Experience in the water/waste water industry is preferred.
- Strong technical aptitude and familiarity with manufacturing processes is preferred.
- Ability to understand relevant industry standards and specifications.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and experience with ERP Systems.

Responsibilities:
- Ability to interface well with Red Valve/DeZURIK sales channels, suppliers, internal manufacturing and engineering departments, and other applicable business contacts to support and promote engineered valve products.
- Become proficient in Red Valve products, industry standards, business system, manufacturing capabilities and internal tools to make accurate cost estimates for standard and non-standard products.
- Provide customers and Sales Representatives with technical information regarding product applications.
- Review specifications at proposal stage to determine applicable product and/or product modification for the valve application.
- Review of incoming orders and provide order clarification prior to entry including assigning part numbers and validating pricing.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines on a consistent basis.
- Develop quotations for all non-standard accessories, testing requirements, materials, and documentation as required by requests for quotation.
