Description:
The Application Engineer is responsible for providing engine installation testing, application reviews and report, and other documentation. Provides technical support to OEMs, Sales, and other Kubota Europe personnel.
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Ability to work any activity pro-actively
- Strong command of the English language, both written and verbal.
- Thorough knowledge of the engineering, mechanics and electronics involved in the installation and operation of diesel and gasoline engines
- Knowledge of Controller Area Network (CAN) protocol and diagnosis
- Knowledge of electrical testing and oscilloscope usage
- Ability to communicate in a professional manner with managers
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Strong problem solving and discernment skills for various decisions. Excellent analytical skills
- Intermediate knowledge of word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet applications
- Intermediate knowledge of CAD and other engineering tools
- Ability to travel, possibly overnight, often with last minutes notice; travel internationally
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
- Associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent vocational training
- 3-5 years’ experience with industrial diesel engines or a similar product; engine installation

Responsibilities:
- Advise customers about technical issues, product performance, and other concerns
- Travel to customer locations to perform engine testing and application reviews. Prepare application reports and compile test data
- Monitor and recommend new techniques to improve engineering and product performance
- Consult with coworker, including those located in Japan, regarding engineering theory, technical issues, and application techniques
- Develop technical bulletins, instruction material, engine specification sheets, etc
- Communicate, organize, and maintain confidential information and material
- Follow safety guidelines and department and corporate policies and procedures
