We are looking for an Application Specialist to support the growth of our automation/ robotics solutions, you will be a critical member of a global team based from Ecublens in Switzerland, supporting customers and colleagues across the globe.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:
- ETS/HES or EPFL/ETHZ engineering degree in mechanics or equivalent
- At least 5 years of experience in mechanical design
- Previous experience in industrial automation/ robotics systems (Metals, Minerals and Cement)
- Good knowledge of PDM (Product Data Management) software and experience using Solidworks CAD software
- Written and oral communication skilled
- Team player, technical leadership, autonomous, customer oriented
- Fluent in French and English

Responsibilities:
- Be the technical product expert working with new and existing customers to define the correct automation solutions for their requirements..
- Proactively initiate, drive, and generate collaborations with key customers on new applications
Demonstration & Analyses of customer samples using Thermo Fisher Automation/ Robotics Solutions
- Participate in customer meetings related to the definition and demonstration of automation/ robotics solutions
- Manage technical expectations of customers, support technical discussions
- Ability to operate our automation systems to produce results from samples submitted by customers
- Produce and present/report results
Sales
- Collaborate with the team in creating, maintaining/reviewing, and updating automation/ robotics related sales material (brochures, PowerPoint presentation, price list, web pages)
- Support for Automation/ Robotics System presentations in commercial exhibitions
- Advise sales team to define the best technical solution that provides optimum customer value
- Support the team with training of new sales representatives and dealers
- Work with automation team to develop new solutions (non-standard product request)
Technical Responsibilities
- Analysis of customer specifications
- Creation of system layouts corresponding to customer request (Prospects / sales support)
