Responsibilities:

PRIMARY PURPOSE

The primary purpose of an application specialist is to provide technical support and training to the customers and users of software applications, and to ensure their optimal performance and functionality.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • An application specialist is a professional who provides technical support and training for software applications.
  • An application specialist is responsible for installing, configuring, updating, and troubleshooting software applications for customers and users.
  • An application specialist is also responsible for creating and maintaining user manuals, guides, and documentation for software applications.
  • An application specialist is expected to have a strong knowledge of the software applications they support, as well as the operating systems, hardware, and network environments they run on.
  • An application specialist is required to communicate effectively with customers and users, and to provide timely and accurate solutions to their issues and queries.
  • An application specialist is also expected to keep abreast of the latest developments and trends in software applications, and to suggest improvements and enhancements to the software developers and vendors.
  • Participate in system and acceptance testing
  • Provide assistance to IT Support on a case-by-case basis.
