EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Oracle Hospitality Suite – FMS, MMS, SPMS, Silverwhere, Simphony, eCruise
  • Experience of working with MarineXchange and/or Otalio
  • TM Master Fleet Management
  • HR systems – OCS, Academy, Jobylon
  • NetData Monitoring
  • Collaboration tools – Microsoft, Adobe, Atlassian suite (JIRA, Confluence, Trello)
  • Scripting - Powershell, Perl script, SQL
  • Knowledge of Microsoft D365 desirable
  • Experience of working within an ITIL framework
  • IT relevant degree educated or equivalent experience managing IT applications
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a physical/virtual team
  • Ability to collaborate with non-technical users
  • Ability to resolve challenging technical issues

Responsibilities:

A BIT ABOUT THE ROLE:

An opportunity to join a growing business and take responsibility for managing our critical IT applications. The Application Specialist will be part of a dynamic, focused, technical IT operations team responsible for managing the technology lifecycle of the infrastructure and applications our business depends on both on land and at sea. As an IT Application Specialist, you will be responsible for the implementation, support and maintenance of software applications within the organisation, working closely with business SMEs and vendors to ensure applications meet business needs and are functioning efficiently.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Application Support: Provide technical support for software applications, troubleshoot incidents and problems, and ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Implementation: Assist in the deployment and configuration of new applications and updates.
  • Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance and updates to ensure applications are running smoothly.
  • Security: Ensure applications comply with security standards and best practices.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of application configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure applications align with business requirements.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor application performance and implement improvements as needed.
  • User Training: Contribute to training sessions for end-users to enhance their understanding and usage of applications.
