The CIO (Chief Information Office) organization in Thomson Reuters provides shared capabilities spanning Service Management, Digital Commerce, Platforms Engineering, and Architecture. The CIO organization is driving a change to bring closer alignment of the technology work we do, to the product and business outcomes. The services from CIO are delivered through a shared capability model and implemented by a strong, talented, diverse set of global teammates. Gdansk is the home of Service Management and is at the epicenter of how we manage our customers’ experience.
The Global Command Center (GCC) team is a new technology team within the IT Service Management organization responsible for driving technology and business teams to address and prevent customer facing issues in Thomson Reuters suite of applications. Main application / technology services provided by the team: application observability, event & incident management, troubleshooting, knowledge creation, automation.
This role is a technology leadership role with no direct reports. However, they will provide oversight and coaching to engineers. Additionally, they will analyze chronic and major issues, design solutions in partnership with the product and IT Service Design teams, build, test, operationalize tools and applications, and act as an escalation for GCC engineers.

About the Role

In this opportunity as Application Support Analyst - Global Command Center, you will:

  • Run the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health.
  • Build software and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications.
  • Improve reliability, quality, and time-to-market of our suite of software solutions.
  • Provide incident response.
  • Measure and optimize system performance, with an eye toward pushing our capabilities forward, getting ahead of customer needs, and innovating to continually improve.
  • Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large distributed software applications.

About You

You’re a fit for the role of Application Support Analyst - Global Command Center if your background includes:

  • 3-5 years of experience.
  • Good understanding of Unix/Linux, Windows administration
  • Experience in working on any public cloud like AWS, Azure
  • Proficiency in the following general areas: Java (Java 1.7/Java 1.8), Javascript, Python, Jenkins, ServiceNow, MSTFS/ADO and/or Github experience providing technical support to Enterprise networks.
  • Good understanding of database technologies
  • Programming/Scripting languages such as Python, Perl,Powershell, Java / J2EE, HTML.
  • Experience working with logging tools (ex- Logstash and/or Kibana) and monitoring tools like Datadog

Security.

  • Hands on experience in implementing an DevOps pipeline using Jenkins and the AWS CI / CD tool sets.
  • A proactive approach to spotting problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks.
